The Generous Light Co.

The Generous Light Co. is a lifestyle brand established in 2015 by entrepreneur Noora Al Zain & artist Karima Sharabi.  They  produce and sell artistic gift items that connect cultures, empower through knowledge, create awareness & better people's lives.  Through the sale of their products, their social media campaigns and other events, they try t to “always inspire a positive change for a better today & a greater tomorrow.”.

"TGLC supports and invests in artists and designers whose creations reflect this vision and our core values of freedom, inspiration, awareness and oneness.  We truly believe that art is the most peaceful and subtle means of expression. By turning artwork into products that people can potentially wear, use, and keep with them wherever they go, the artist’s work, as well as our core values they represent, will reach a wider audience.  We aim to spread peace, love and “light.”

"Our first brand Chamkana does just that.  Chamkana means “to shine” in Urdu and is based on the work of artist Karima Sharabi and her Mystical Arabic tattoo designs.  For her first collection she created 12 totems or symbols using Arabic words representing humanities potential for peace and enlightenment. You can read more about her artwork on our website. www.thegenerouslightco.com

Most people are familiar with the Chamkana line of gold-plated jewelry and T-shirts but we are excited to introduce a new range of products at the Words pop-up shop!

With an emphasis on artists and designers from the Arab World, TGLC also aims to change any negative perceptions people have of the Middle East. We want to highlight the beauty and all-encompassing spirituality of our region and relate that to the beauty and spirituality of other cultures and places we visit on our travels. Our brand, in essence, is cross-cultural and inclusive, a voice to which people worldwide can relate and from which they can learn.

Cook Book Signing and Pop Up Shop with Rania Moualla

A Spoonful of Home: Middle Eastern Recipes Made Easy

Rania Moualla is an entrepreneur/fashion designer, writer and philanthropist based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Co-founder of the Ya Balady clothing line (yabaladyrm.com), Rania designs clothing for women that taps into authentic, ancient Middle Eastern culture, under the slogan “Celebrate my heritage in style.”  Her enterprise, staffed by designers, seamstresses, artists and other creatives, is committed to driving systemic change for a more equitable society. For the past 27 years, Rania has also volunteered with a diverse range of non-profits, NGOs and foundations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad that improve the lives of others, especially cancer patients, children with Down Syndrome, and women in need.

Rania's cookbook A Spoonful of Home: Middle Eastern Recipes Made Easy celebrates the delicious foods lovingly prepared by her own mother. Believing that good food nourishes the soul as well as the body, Rania recreated these cherished family recipes as “a shortcut to my mother’s table. My entire concept is to illustrate that great meals don’t have to be time-consuming,”

Rania says “I’ve adapted these favorites so that busy people can enjoy the beautiful tradition of preparing, sharing, and bonding over home-cooked meals.”

Between her elegant and easy interpretations of time-honored clothing and cuisine, and her caring outreach, Rania seeks to reawaken and share a rich, gracious and life-enriching legacy.
