Join Dr Samar Al-Barghouthi whilst she reads extracts from her book, The Purple Bird, Palestine - a History and a Tale. The book is aimed at children and teenagers in the age range 8-14. The story revolves around a fictional purple bird flying over the skies of Palestine with beautiful illustrations and text to recount the most important historical events that have taken place in Palestine. As the Purple Bird moves from one land to another it witnesses the arrival of the Canaanite Arabs to Palestine, their discoveries, trade and the building of the City of Jerusalem and recounts their current hopes and aspirations.
Dr Samar will be delighted to sign copies of her book and engage with her audience following the reading.
The event is free and all are welcome.
