Please join us for a workshop "Music, Wellness and You" with music therapist Aksana Kavaliova-Moussi

This workshop will introduce the role of music in enhancing and maintaining our health and wellness. Attendees will learn how music affects the human mind, body and spirit. The workshop will include an interactive session where attendees can experience the power of rhythm and music, and its effect on their physical and psychological state. There will be a pre- and post-test with a short questionnaire and a blood pressure monitoring. The presenter will provide her own instruments for this session. Previous music playing experience is not required. Attendees can bring their blood pressure monitors if desired.
Aksana Kavaliova-Moussi is an Accredited Music Therapist, with an Honors Bachelor of Music Therapy from the University of Windsor (Canada), and Master of Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University (USA). She also completed her training in Neurologic Music Therapy. She has almost 10 years of clinical experience, working with children and adolescents with various special needs; expectant mothers; cancer survivors; pediatric hospital patients; oncology patients; as well as people in hospice and palliative care.
Aksana is a professional member of the World Federation of Music Therapy and the Canadian and American music therapy associations. She is the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Liaison for the World Federation since 2011, and is a Co- Director of the international Online Conference for Music Therapy. She published several articles in the international journals, and presented in Canada, Austria, Bahrain, Russia and online.
